Postdoctoral Associates

Dr. Eungkyu Lee

Dr. Lee joined the MEMT group in Oct, 2015. His research is engineering of thermal interfaces in high-power solid-state electronic devices (e.g., GaN-based high-electron-mobility transistors) for efficient heat-removal management. Utilizing nanostructures and thermal buffer layers, he have focused to increase and optimize thermal boundary conductance at the interfaces through experimental (lithography) and theoretical (molecular dynamic simulations) manners.

Dr. Jarrod Schiffbauer

Dr. Schiffbauer joined the MEMT group in Jan, 2016. Primary research interests of him are theoretical aspects of non-linear, non-equilibrium effects in nanoscale heat transfer and electrokinetic transport, modeling phase change and transport, and non-linear dynamics in soft condensed matter/fluid systems. Secondary research interests are experimental/applications work associated with photothermal cancer therapy, water desalination/purification, biomedical detection, and energy applications involving micro/nanoscale transport and chemical reactions.

Dr. Taehee Yoo

Dr. Yoo joined the MEMT group in Feb, 2016. His research is studying thermal conducting properties with spin currents in magnetic materials using transient time-domain thermoreflectance (TDTR) measurements.
